A brother and sister seek their lost father. Their quest leads them to their parental home, where they find, etched into a wall, a narrative. This narrative turns out to be their father's diary. In his diary, the father looks back on his childhood years, his growth into adulthood, and finally his descent into old age. As a child, he did not understand that many of his dreams and ideals would be difficult to realize. Growing up brought with it much suffering and disappointment. Soon, having reached adulthood, he forgot his dreams, and was swallowed up by society. His own ideals yielded to those of others. He lost his individuality, and he became part of a well oiled, but identity destroying, machine. Only in his dreams could he be the man he truly was. Once he had grown old, he realized all he had given up, and regretted the choices he had made. He realized too late that during his adult life, he had always postponed the things he had really wanted. To ensure that his children would not make the same mistake, he etched his life story in the wall. He reached out to his children over the years to warn them: never give up your ideals, never forget your dreams.
